Dentistry from the Heart Event sets new record

It was a wonderful day, Saturday, November 10th at Rausch Family Dentistry in Stone Mountain Georgia. The doors opened for the fourth annual Dentistry from the Heart event at 7:30 AM.

Drs. Candace Rausch, Gerald Rausch, Ray Cornay of Rausch Family Dentistry were joined by Dr. Lola Oh of John’s Creek and Dr. Marjorie Cabell of Hampton, Georgia, for a fun and rewarding day serving those in need in our community. From opening until 4:30 PM, the dentists and more than 30 volunteers worked steadily providing free dental care to those in need.

Nearly 100 Patients arrived early and waited in line patiently for the services which were performed on a first come first served basis. Patients had their choice of one service a free, cleaning, extraction or filling.

Dr. Candace Rausch said, “It takes a lot of work and dedication to put on an event like this, we would like to thank our doctors, volunteers, sponsors, and members of the community who donated time and resources to make this event a success. The patients were very appreciative and it was a pleasure for us to be able to help them.”

The 2018 Dentistry from the Heart event provided $25,119 of free dental care, more than $6,000 more than the record $19,107 from the 2017 event. All of the patients were very grateful for the expert care that they received.

Thank you for coming on your day off! Dental/oral hygiene is very important and not everyone has the means to obtain it. Thank you to everyone for being so gracious and kind. – Nitzia R.

I am grateful for the service that I received today. All the employees were very professional and kind. The doctor was excellent. I thought I was going to have an extraction but the doctor was able to save the tooth. – David I.

Thank you all so very much! This is my third year with Dentistry from the Heart. It is extremely appreciated, having no insurance and a single poor mom! – Amy N.

Dear Dentistry from the Heart: Dr. Rausch and team. Thanks for all you do. May you be blessed in abundance this “Thanksgiving” and always. We do appreciate your ‘giving back’. -Sylvia L.

Sponsors included Chick fil-a of Stone Mountain who provided lunch for the volunteers, and Atlanta Dental and Crest/Oral B who provided dental supplies.

On a rainy night in Georgia, more than 50 people from Lilburn and surrounding areas lined up for free dental care at the latest Dentistry from the Heart event held at Rausch Family Dentistry on Saturday November 7, 2015.

Starting at six in the morning, dental staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to make sure all patients received the best of care. By the end of the event, the dentists and volunteers had provided, at no expense to the patient, dental procedures worth $12,733 in total for those in need.

Patients expressed their appreciation in various ways, some with a big smile or a hearty handshake others by leaving notes of appreciation for the doctors and staff.

“Great experience!! Everybody was nice and professional.” Dara C.

“Thank you so much. Today was a blessing for me. Now I’m pain free. I can think better and function better now.” Laveta W.

“You guys are great. You are doing a wonderful job helping out the community of people without health and dental insurance. You Guys Rock! This means so much to me. God bless you all.” Lovern P.

“There is such a presence in this place. And I want to say thank you to each and everyone as you made me feel like family and I know that the Lord dwells here with this staff. God bless you all!” Carolyn K.

Dr. Candace Rausch and Dr. Gerald Rausch expressed appreciation to all of the sponsors and volunteers including Drs. Thomas Funderburk and also, Dr. Jeffrey Rausch and his staff from Dalton Georgia. We are especially thankful to Atlanta Dental for supplying additional equipment and dental materials. Chick-fil-a of Stone Mountain provided boxed lunches for all volunteers.
